Website, Website, Website
Posted in Un-categorized by itvibesBranding your business label effectively is a major key in today’s world. Websites are considered face of the busines. They represent your commitment, promise and your work quality 24×7 to your both your clients and your potential customers.
Standards
There are few basic Web standards that need to be followed when creating a website:
- Ease of use – Usability is the first and foremost requirement for a good website. Simple and easy to use sites gain more popularity and are followed by the large online community. Google is a great example for this.
- Cross-browser compatibility – We live in a browser nightmare with many browsers around and more coming up. The most popular ones are Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Opera etc. Thanks for the new standards that all the browsers are coming to one stand in following the HTML, CSS, Graphics, JavaScript and code standards.
- Easy Navigation – Well, I get lost in many websites and cannot find the content I am looking for until I search around (or not care and just leave). Easy navigation around the website makes the user comfortable and browse through your site easily and to spend more time on your site.
- Flash objects – Flash has become the de-facto standard for online video content. It not only adds beauty but also dynamism to your users. But, I said but! The page loads slower, they are expensive in design and hard to customize (‘can’t-do-yourself’ thingy). So, be wise in deciding to use them on your websites. There are alternatives like JQuery, Moo Tools and Script.aculo.us
